The Heinkel He 111H-3 was a German medium bomber extensively used during the early stages of World War II.

By 1941, it played a crucial role on the Eastern Front as part of the Luftwaffe's campaigns against the Soviet Union during Operation Barbarossa.

This variant of the He 111 was equipped with a more powerful Jumo 211D-1 engine, offering improved performance, and was armed with enhanced defensive weaponry, including multiple 7.92 mm MG 15 machine guns.

The H-3 variant could carry up to 2,000 kg of bombs, making it effective for tactical and strategic bombing missions.

On the Eastern Front, the He 111H-3 was tasked with supporting advancing German ground forces, targeting Soviet supply lines, infrastructure, and troop concentrations.

Despite its effectiveness, the bomber faced increasing challenges from Soviet fighters and harsh weather conditions, which tested both its capabilities and the endurance of its crews.

The Heinkel He 111H-3 became a symbol of the Luftwaffe's early dominance, though its vulnerabilities became more apparent as the war progressed.
