The North American PBJ-1J Mitchell was a naval version of the famous B-25 Mitchell medium bomber, adapted for use by the U.S.
Marine Corps during World War II. Derived from the B-25J model, the PBJ-1J featured twin engines, a high-mounted wing, and a glass nose typically housing a bombardier.
This variant was modified for maritime operations, often equipped with radar and additional armament for anti-shipping, patrol, and close air support roles in the Pacific Theater.
Versatile and rugged, the PBJ-1J served with distinction in Marine bomber squadrons, providing crucial airpower from island airstrips across the Pacific.
