The Polish Pilot and Ground Crew 1939 set represents the men of the Polish Air Force at the outbreak of the Second World War.
Pilots, often flying the PZL P.11c fighter, faced overwhelming odds against the modern Luftwaffe but displayed remarkable bravery during the September Campaign.
Dressed in leather flying jackets, flight helmets, and goggles, the pilots embody the determined spirit of Poland’s defense.
Alongside them, ground crew worked tirelessly in basic uniforms and coveralls, often under fire, to keep aircraft serviceable despite limited resources and harsh conditions.
Together, they symbolize the resilience and sacrifice of Poland’s air arm in 1939.
