The weapons and equipment of French infantry during the First World War reflected the rapid evolution of warfare as armies adapted to the harsh realities of trench combat.

One of the most recognisable items introduced during the war was the Adrian helmet, designed to offer improved protection against shrapnel and becoming an iconic symbol of French forces.

As the war progressed, equipment evolved to meet the demands of modern industrialised warfare, incorporating improved protective gear, more effective weapons, and specialised tools for trench fighting.
