The Avia S-92, also known by its nicknames "Vlastovka" (Swallow in Czech) and "Schwalbe" (Swallow in German), is a post-World War II fighter aircraft produced in Czechoslovakia.
It was based on the German Messerschmitt Me 262, the world's first operational jet-powered fighter aircraft.
After the war, Czechoslovakia utilized the left-behind technology and components from the Me 262 to produce the S-92.
The S-92 retained much of the design and performance characteristics of the original Me 262, including its twin jet engines, swept wings, and armament capabilities.
It was primarily used by the Czechoslovak Air Force in the late 1940s.
Despite being a significant step in jet aviation for Czechoslovakia, the rapid advancements in jet technology soon rendered the S-92 obsolete, and it was eventually phased out of service.
