After losing all of her training ships as war reparation to the Allies at the end of WWII, the German Bundesmarine decided in 1957 to commission a new training vessel and named her Gorch Fock. She is sometimes referred to as Gorch Foc k II, as the original had passed into Soviet hands. Launched and commissioned in 1958, Gorch Fock is a three - masted barque with a steel hull. Revells model features a t wo piece hull, fully detailed decks, superstructure and masts, vacform sails, m otorboa ts and lifeboats , h elm and ventilation shafts , yarn for sta tic and running lines and a d isplay stand . Additionally, this 60 th Anniversary Gift Set version includes; Contacta Professional cement, paintbrush, a selection of Aqua acrylic paints and an A 2 reproduction box - art poster.
