The FJ-2 and FJ-3 Fury are a pair of swept-wing carrier-capable fighters developed by North American for the US Navy and Marine Corps.

The FJ-2 was developed as a consequence of an effort to navalize the US Air Force's North American F-86 Sabre.

These planes have folding wings and a larger nose landing strut to increase angle of attack and fit a longer oleo to mitigate the shock of harsh landings on an aircraft carrier deck.

Despite having the same U.S. Navy designation as its straight-winged predecessor, the North American FJ-1 Fury, the FJ-2/-3 was an entirely different aircraft.

The FJ-4 was a complete structural redesign of the FJ-3 later on.

One of the aircraft used to test the first steam catapult on a US Navy aircraft carrier was the FJ-2.
