The Fairey Barracuda Mk.II was a British carrier-based torpedo and dive bomber used by the Royal Navy’s Fleet Air Arm during World War II.

Introduced in 1943, it featured a distinctive high-mounted wing, tricycle landing gear, and a crew of three.

Powered by a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine, the Mk.II variant improved performance and reliability over earlier models.

It carried torpedoes, bombs, or depth charges, and played a key role in attacks such as the raid on the German battleship Tirpitz.

Though ungainly in appearance, the Barracuda was a vital workhorse in naval strike operations.
