The GAZ-AAA truck with 25mm 72-K AA gun was a Soviet self-propelled anti-aircraft platform developed during World War II to provide mobile air defense for mechanized units.
Based on the rugged and reliable GAZ-AAA 6x4 truck chassis, this vehicle was fitted with the 25mm 72-K automatic cannon—capable of engaging low-flying aircraft with a high rate of fire and effective range.
The open cargo bed allowed full 360° traverse of the weapon, and the truck’s mobility made it ideal for rapid redeployment on the battlefield.
Widely used to protect convoys, supply lines, and frontline units from Luftwaffe air attacks, the GAZ-AAA with 72-K was a practical and effective solution to the growing threat of air power during the war.
