The Hannover Cl.II was a German ground-attack biplane aircraft developed during World War I.

It was designed to provide close air support for German troops on the Western Front.

The Hannover Cl.II was powered by a Mercedes D.III inline engine and had a maximum speed of around 109 miles per hour.

It could carry a variety of bombs and was armed with two 7.92 mm machine guns, one mounted in the front cockpit and one in the rear cockpit.

The aircraft had a crew of two: a pilot and an observer/gunner.

During the war, the Hannover Cl.II was used primarily for attacking enemy trenches, artillery positions, and supply lines.

It was also used for reconnaissance and aerial photography missions.

The aircraft's design gave it excellent stability and maneuverability, and it was able to operate from short or improvised airfields.

Despite its success as a ground-attack aircraft, the Hannover Cl.II suffered from a number of technical problems, including poor engine reliability and a tendency to spin out of control during steep dives.

These issues limited the aircraft's effectiveness and led to its gradual replacement by more advanced aircraft in the latter stages of the war.

Overall, the Hannover Cl.II was considered to be a sturdy and reliable aircraft that played an important role in the German war effort.

A few examples of the aircraft can still be seen in museums and private collections around the world.
