The M966 HMMWV (High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle), commonly known as the “Humvee,” is a specialised anti-tank variant designed to provide fast, mobile firepower on the battlefield.

Developed for the United States military, the M966 is configured to carry and deploy the TOW (Tube-launched, Optically tracked, Wire-guided) missile system, giving it the ability to engage heavily armoured targets at long range.

Built on the rugged and highly versatile Humvee platform, the M966 offers excellent off-road mobility, allowing it to operate across a wide range of terrain.

Its relatively light weight and speed enable rapid repositioning, making it well-suited to hit-and-run tactics and supporting mechanised units.

The TOW missile system mounted on the vehicle provides powerful anti-armour capability, capable of defeating tanks and fortified positions.

The launcher is typically mounted in the rear, with space for additional missiles stored inside the vehicle, allowing crews to reload and continue engaging targets as needed.

Used extensively from the late Cold War period through modern conflicts, the M966 has proven to be an effective and adaptable platform.
