The Bf-109E-7 Trop was Germany's iconic response to the harsh demands of desert warfare.

Adapted for operations over North Africa, this variant of the famous "Emil" featured a tropical filter and modifications to withstand the intense heat and sand of the desert environment.

Piloted by aces of the Luftwaffe's Jagdgeschwader, the E-7 Trop flew cover for Rommel’s Afrika Korps, engaging Allied aircraft in the skies over Libya and Egypt during the crucial campaigns of 1941–1942.

Armed with two 7.92 mm MG 17 machine guns and two 20 mm MG FF/M cannons, along with the ability to carry a centerline bomb for ground support, the E-7 Trop was a versatile fighter-bomber.

Its streamlined airframe, powerful Daimler-Benz DB 601N engine, and superior agility made it a fearsome opponent in combat.

This kit captures the distinctive look of the desert-fitted Emil, featuring optional sand filters, accurate tropical markings, and details that bring the war in the desert vividly to life.
