The French AMR 35 ADF1 was a light command tank developed in the 1930s as part of France's effort to modernize its armored forces.

Designed as a derivative of the AMR 35 light tank, the ADF1 variant was equipped to serve as a command and communication vehicle for mechanized units.

It featured a modified hull to accommodate a more spacious fighting compartment, along with specialized radio equipment, making it distinct from the standard AMR 35 models.

Powered by a Renault 4-cylinder engine, the AMR 35 ADF1 could reach a top speed of around 55 km/h on roads, providing mobility suitable for reconnaissance and support roles.

Its armament typically included a single 7.5mm Reibel machine gun for self-defense, as its primary function was to serve as a communications hub rather than engage in combat.

While the AMR 35 ADF1 demonstrated innovation, it suffered from mechanical reliability issues and was eventually outclassed by advancements in tank design by the outbreak of World War II.

Nonetheless, it played a role in the French Army's early wartime strategies, emphasizing the importance of armored command vehicles in modern warfare.
