The Mikoyan MiG-15, designated S-102 in Czechoslovak service, was one of the world’s first successful jet fighters and a defining aircraft of the early Cold War.

Entering service in the late 1940s, it featured a swept-wing design, pressurized cockpit, and a powerful RD-45 jet engine (a Soviet copy of the British Rolls-Royce Nene).

The MiG-15 was armed with one 37mm and two 23mm cannons, giving it devastating firepower against both fighters and bombers.

It gained fame during the Korean War, where it outclassed early Western jets and forced rapid development of countermeasures.

The S-102 was the licensed Czechoslovak-built version, contributing significantly to Eastern Bloc air forces. Sleek, fast, and deadly, the MiG-15 marked the beginning of the jet age in Soviet aviation.
