The Soviet T-34/76 (1943 Factory No.112 “Krasnoye Sormovo”) represents a key wartime production variant of the legendary T-34, reflecting both the strengths of the design and the realities of mass production under the pressures of total war.

Produced at Factory No.112, this version is often associated with distinctive turret characteristics, including rough cast surfaces and simplified shapes that were quicker to manufacture.

These features were not aesthetic choices, but practical adaptations that allowed large numbers of tanks to be produced rapidly while maintaining combat effectiveness.

Armed with the 76.2mm gun, the T-34/76 remained a capable battlefield weapon in 1943, effective against a wide range of enemy targets.

Its combination of firepower, sloped armour, and mobility continued to make it a formidable opponent, even as more heavily armed German tanks began to appear.

The vehicle retained the T-34’s hallmark wide tracks and powerful engine, enabling excellent cross-country performance in difficult conditions such as mud, snow, and uneven terrain.

This mobility was a major advantage on the Eastern Front, where terrain and weather often dictated the pace of operations.

Like earlier versions, the 1943 model typically featured a two-man turret, which placed a heavy workload on the commander.
