The Carro Comando M13/40 was an Italian command tank used during World War II.
It was an adaptation of the M13/40 medium tank, designed to serve as a mobile command and control vehicle within armored units.
One of its distinguishing features was the installation of 8mm Breda machine guns.
The 8mm Breda machine guns were mounted on the Carro Comando M13/40 for the purpose of providing defensive fire and suppressive capabilities against infantry and light vehicles.
These machine guns were often employed for anti-aircraft and anti-personnel roles as well.
The Carro Comando M13/40 was utilized by the Italian Army during the North African campaign and other theaters of World War II.
It played a crucial role in coordinating armored operations and facilitating communication between tanks on the battlefield.
Despite its limitations, the Carro Comando M13/40 contributed to the Italian war effort and is remembered as a unique variant in the history of armored warfare.
