The Tractor with Fla-MG151/20 Drillinglafette was an improvised but effective German anti-aircraft platform developed during the later stages of World War II.
Mounted on a standard utility tractor, this configuration featured a Drillinglafette—a triple-mount of MG151/20 20mm autocannons—providing a potent and mobile defense against low-flying aircraft.
Originally designed for aircraft use, the MG151/20 was adapted for ground-based anti-aircraft roles due to its high rate of fire and devastating punch.
When mounted in a triple arrangement, it created a concentrated cone of fire capable of shredding strafing fighters or ground attack aircraft.
Mounted on a tractor chassis, the system gained mobility, allowing it to be rapidly deployed wherever air cover was needed—be it near fuel depots, supply convoys, or advancing ground troops.
Though lightly armored, the platform’s strength lay in its versatility, speed of deployment, and volume of fire.
Crewed by Luftwaffe or Heer personnel, these tractor-mounted Flak units were a symbol of Germany’s adaptive approach to increasing Allied air dominance.
The Tractor with Fla-MG151/20 Drillinglafette stands as a striking example of wartime ingenuity—merging agricultural machinery with lethal firepower in the desperate fight for airspace control.
