The T-14 Armata is Russia’s next-generation main battle tank, developed as part of the advanced Armata universal combat platform.
Designed to replace older Soviet-era tanks such as the T-72 and T-90, the T-14 represents a major leap forward in armoured vehicle technology, combining improved protection, firepower and digital battlefield capabilities.
One of the most distinctive features of the T-14 is its unmanned turret, with the three-man crew seated in a heavily armoured capsule located within the hull.
This design significantly improves crew survivability by separating personnel from the ammunition and main weapon systems.
The tank is equipped with a powerful 125 mm smoothbore cannon, supported by an autoloader system that allows for rapid firing and the potential use of advanced armour-piercing and guided munitions.
The T-14 also incorporates advanced defensive systems, including reactive armour, composite armour protection and the Afghanit active protection system, which is designed to intercept incoming anti-tank missiles and projectiles.
Combined with modern sensors, radar and digital targeting systems, the tank is intended to operate as part of a highly networked battlefield environment.
