The Fairey Fulmar Mk.II was the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm’s dependable long-range carrier-borne fighter during the critical early years of World War II.

Designed to meet the Navy’s unique requirements for range, endurance, and a two-man crew, the Fulmar proved itself in operations across the Mediterranean and North Africa.

The Mk.II featured improved performance over its predecessor, powered by the more powerful Rolls-Royce Merlin 30 engine and fitted with a more streamlined radiator and tropical air filter options.

Armed with eight .303 Browning machine guns, the Fulmar Mk.II was effective in bomber escort roles, long-range patrols, and reconnaissance missions, often operating from carriers such as HMS Illustrious and HMS Formidable.

Though outmatched by more nimble single-seat fighters, the Fulmar earned respect for its rugged reliability, stable handling, and effectiveness in its intended role.

It was instrumental in victories over the Italian and Vichy French air forces, and later served in the Indian Ocean and Far East.

This detailed kit brings to life one of Britain’s unsung heroes of naval aviation, complete with accurate markings, cockpit detail, and optional configurations for tropical or European service.
