The Eurofighter EF-2000A Typhoon of the German Air Force, deployed during Rapid Pacific 2022, represents a significant demonstration of modern European air power operating far beyond its traditional theatre.
Operated by the German Air Force, this deployment highlighted both the flexibility of the aircraft and Germany’s ability to project air capability into the Indo-Pacific region.
The EF-2000A is the single-seat combat variant of the Eurofighter Typhoon, designed for air superiority with strong multirole capabilities.
Featuring advanced avionics, a powerful radar system, and highly agile delta-canard aerodynamics, the Typhoon excels in both beyond-visual-range engagements and close-in dogfighting scenarios.
Rapid Pacific 2022 was a long-range deployment exercise that saw Luftwaffe Typhoons travel thousands of miles from Europe to Asia.
