The Boeing CH-46E / CH-46F Sea Knight was a versatile and dependable medium-lift helicopter that served for decades as a key workhorse of the United States Marine Corps.

Instantly recognisable by its tandem rotor configuration, the Sea Knight was designed for troop transport, cargo delivery, and battlefield support in a wide range of environments.

Developed by Boeing (originally Vertol), the CH-46 featured two large rotors mounted fore and aft, eliminating the need for a tail rotor and providing excellent lift capability and stability.

This design allowed it to operate efficiently from confined landing zones, ships, and rough terrain, making it particularly well suited to amphibious operations.

The Sea Knight could carry a significant payload of troops or equipment, with easy access via a rear loading ramp.

Its reliability and adaptability made it a trusted platform for missions ranging from combat assault and medical evacuation to resupply and humanitarian operations.
