The Type 89 Kou (Late) and Type 95 Ha-Go were key Japanese tanks used during World War II, each serving different battlefield roles.
The Type 89 Kou (Late) was a medium tank developed in the 1930s, featuring riveted armor, a 57mm gun, and a diesel engine for improved reliability.
It was primarily used in China and early Pacific campaigns, but by WWII, it was outdated against modern Allied tanks.
The Type 95 Ha-Go, a light tank, was Japan’s most widely used armored vehicle of the war.
It had a 37mm gun, thin armor, and high mobility, making it effective against infantry but vulnerable to enemy tanks and anti-tank weapons.
It saw action across the Pacific, Southeast Asia, and China, where its speed and maneuverability were assets in jungle warfare.
