The M11/39 was an Italian medium tank used in the early stages of World War II.
Designed in the late 1930s, it featured a unique layout with a 37mm Vickers-Terni gun mounted in the hull and twin 8mm machine guns in a rotating turret.
The tank's design reflected an outdated approach, focusing on infantry support rather than tank-versus-tank combat.
With its riveted armor and relatively weak armament, the M11/39 was quickly outclassed by more modern tanks.
It saw limited action in North Africa, where it proved to be underpowered and poorly protected against Allied forces, leading to its rapid replacement by more advanced Italian designs.
