The Volkswagen Typ 82 Kübelwagen was a lightweight military utility vehicle used extensively by German forces throughout World War II.

Designed for simplicity, reliability, and ease of production, it became one of the most widely used soft-skin vehicles of the conflict.

Based on the Volkswagen Beetle’s chassis, the Kübelwagen featured a rear-mounted air-cooled engine, providing dependable performance in a wide range of environments, from the deserts of North Africa to the harsh conditions of the Eastern Front.

Its lightweight construction and high ground clearance allowed it to traverse difficult terrain with surprising effectiveness, despite lacking four-wheel drive.

Primarily used for transport, liaison, and reconnaissance duties, the Kübelwagen could carry personnel and light equipment efficiently across the battlefield.

Its straightforward design made it easy to maintain and repair, even in demanding field conditions.
