The Hughes AH-6A “Night Fox” was a specialised light attack helicopter developed from the compact and highly agile OH-6 Cayuse, adapted for covert and precision strike missions.

Operated by elite U.S. Army units, the AH-6A was designed to provide close air support and escort capabilities, particularly during night operations.

Nicknamed “Night Fox” due to its role in low-visibility missions, the aircraft was equipped with specialised night-flying equipment, allowing it to operate effectively in darkness and challenging conditions.

Its small size and exceptional manoeuvrability made it ideal for navigating tight terrain and urban environments, often flying at very low altitudes to avoid detection.
