The P-47N-1RE Thunderbolt marked the beginning of the final and most advanced variant of the legendary Republic P-47 series.

Specially designed for long-range escort missions over the vast Pacific Theater, this version featured a stretched wing with squared tips and increased internal fuel capacity, dramatically extending its range to over 2,000 miles with drop tanks.

Retaining the formidable Pratt & Whitney R-2800 engine and armed with eight .50 caliber Browning machine guns, the P-47N-1RE could dish out punishing firepower while still absorbing heavy battle damage.

The upgraded airframe, reinforced landing gear, and advanced autopilot system made it ideal for high-speed, long-distance flights over open ocean.

Deployed primarily in the closing stages of World War II, the P-47N-1RE played a key role in escorting B-29 Superfortresses on bombing missions against Japan and conducting devastating ground attacks across the Pacific islands.

With its combination of range, firepower, and rugged reliability, the P-47N-1RE was a true symbol of Allied air superiority and a fitting evolution of the powerful "Jug" lineage.
