The McDonnell RF-101C Voodoo was a supersonic reconnaissance aircraft developed from the F-101 Voodoo fighter.
Designed for high-speed, low-altitude photographic reconnaissance missions, the RF-101C became a critical asset for the United States Air Force during the Cold War.
Equipped with advanced camera systems instead of weaponry, it was capable of capturing high-resolution imagery while flying at speeds exceeding Mach 1.5.
The aircraft excelled in missions requiring rapid penetration of enemy airspace, including during the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Vietnam War.
Renowned for its speed, reliability, and versatility, the RF-101C served as the USAF's primary tactical reconnaissance platform until it was replaced by more advanced aircraft in the 1970s.
