The Bf-109G-6/U/N4 was a specialized late-war variant of Germany’s most iconic fighter, adapted for night interception duties during the intense nocturnal battles over the Third Reich.

Equipped with the FuG 350 Naxos Z radar detector, this aircraft was designed to hunt RAF bombers by homing in on emissions from their H2S radar systems.

This unique Gustav variant featured the long-barrelled MK 108 30mm cannon in the nose, providing devastating firepower with just a few hits.

The aircraft retained the distinctive bulges over the cowling—known as “Beule”—to accommodate the larger breech blocks of the upgraded armament.

It also incorporated cockpit modifications for night operations, including flame dampeners on the exhausts and a refined canopy for better visibility.

Although it was never produced in large numbers, the Bf-109G-6/U/N4 represents an innovative adaptation of the Luftwaffe’s workhorse to the desperate need for effective night fighters late in the war.

This kit offers modelers a rare look into the lesser-known night fighter role of the Bf-109, featuring the distinctive FuG 350 Naxos antenna, optional night camouflage schemes, and finely detailed cockpit and undercarriage parts.
