The Sd.Kfz.247 Ausf.B was a rare but distinctive German armored command car designed primarily for reconnaissance and staff officer duties during World War II.

Built on a 4x4 heavy car chassis, this late version variant featured sloped armor for improved ballistic protection and a more modern, angular body design, reflecting the Wehrmacht's shift toward mobility and armored coordination on the battlefield.

Deployed with motorized and Panzer divisions, the Ausf.B was unarmed but typically accompanied combat units to serve as a mobile command post.

With its open-top configuration, it provided easy communication with ground troops while still offering some protection from small arms fire and shell splinters.

Only 58 units were produced between 1941 and 1942, making it an elusive and intriguing subject for modelers and WWII vehicle enthusiasts.

This model kit captures the unique shape and field modifications of the late-war Ausf.B variant, making it ideal for dioramas or as part of a German staff column display.
