The Douglas OA-4M Skyhawk “Samurai” was a two-seat forward air control and training variant of the legendary A-4 Skyhawk, used by the U.S. Marine Corps.

Developed from the TA-4F, it retained the Skyhawk’s nimble handling and compact design while incorporating upgraded avionics and targeting systems for battlefield coordination.

The OA-4M earned the nickname “Samurai” for its sleek profile and precision in guiding air strikes.

Though primarily used for training and support, its combat-capable configuration made it a versatile asset in Marine aviation during the 1970s and 1980s.
