The Panzerkampfwagen IV Ausf.F2, later redesignated Ausf.G, marked a significant leap in German tank firepower during the North African Campaign of 1942.

Armed with the new long-barrelled 7.5cm KwK 40 L/43 gun, it posed a serious threat to British Crusaders and American-built Shermans.

Deployed with the Afrika Korps under General Rommel, the F2 brought much-needed anti-tank capability to the desert battlefield.

Its distinctive long gun, combined with reinforced armor and desert modifications, made it a formidable opponent in battles such as Gazala and the First Battle of El Alamein.
