The Messerschmitt Bf-109F-4 is widely regarded as the finest variant of the legendary Friedrich series, and one of the best-balanced fighters of World War II.

With its refined aerodynamics, upgraded armament, and exceptional agility, the F-4 became the aircraft of choice for many of the Luftwaffe’s most successful aces.

Powered by the Daimler-Benz DB 601E engine, the F-4 featured improved high-altitude performance and was armed with a powerful 20mm MG 151/20 cannon firing through the propeller hub, along with two 7.92mm MG 17 machine guns above the engine.

It retained the streamlined, elegant design of the F-series, with rounded wingtips and cleaner lines, delivering superb handling in both dogfights and high-speed dives.

This aircraft was flown by many elite pilots, including Hans-Joachim Marseille, known as the “Star of Africa,” whose extraordinary skill and marksmanship in the Bf-109F-4 earned him 158 aerial victories, many against RAF fighters over North Africa.

This “Aces” edition kit pays tribute to the legacy of the Luftwaffe’s top scorers, featuring decal options for multiple aircraft flown by famous pilots, finely detailed cockpit and panel lines, and optional desert or European theatre fittings.
