The Republic P-47D-22E Thunderbolt in French service represents a powerful chapter in Allied air operations during the later stages of the Second World War.

Built by Republic Aviation, the P-47 was one of the largest and most heavily armed single-engine fighters of its time, renowned for its rugged construction and exceptional firepower.

The D-22E variant retained the distinctive “razorback” fuselage design and was powered by the Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp engine, delivering impressive speed, high-altitude performance, and excellent diving capability.
