The COE (Cab Over Engine) Heavy Duty Truck 1939 represents an early generation of American commercial vehicles designed to maximise cargo capacity while maintaining a compact overall length.
In the cab-over-engine configuration, the driver’s cab is positioned directly above the engine rather than behind it, allowing a shorter wheelbase while still providing a large cargo area.
This design became especially popular for heavy-duty transport and urban delivery operations where manoeuvrability and space efficiency were important.
Introduced during the late 1930s, trucks of this type were widely used for freight hauling, construction work, and industrial transport.
