The Antonov An-32B is a rugged twin-engine turboprop transport aircraft developed from the well-known Antonov An-26.
Designed by the Antonov Design Bureau, the An-32 was specifically engineered to operate in hot climates and high-altitude environments, making it particularly effective for missions in challenging conditions where many other transport aircraft struggle to perform.
One of the most distinctive features of the An-32 is the placement of its large turboprop engines mounted above the wings, which improves airflow over the wings and enhances lift during take-off.
This design allows the aircraft to operate from short and unprepared airstrips, even in extreme heat or at high elevations.
The aircraft’s robust landing gear and reinforced structure further support operations from rough airfields and remote locations.
The An-32B variant serves as a tactical transport aircraft capable of carrying troops, cargo, equipment or humanitarian supplies.
