The Sd.Kfz.251/4 was a specialised artillery support variant of the Sd.Kfz.251, developed to tow and supply field guns for the Wehrmacht.

Designed to keep artillery mobile and close to the front lines, it played a vital role in supporting mechanised and armoured units during the Second World War.

Unlike the standard troop carrier versions, the Sd.Kfz.251/4 was configured as an artillery tractor.

It was commonly used to tow guns such as the 10.5 cm leFH 18, while also carrying crew members and ammunition.

The interior was modified to include storage racks for shells and equipment, making it a self-contained support vehicle for artillery units.

The half-track design—featuring front steering wheels and rear tracks—provided a strong balance between speed and off-road capability.
