The Sd.Kfz.251/6 Ausf. A was a specialised command and communications variant of Germany’s standard half-track, based on the Sd.Kfz.251 series.

Designed to support senior officers and headquarters units, it played a key role in coordinating operations within the Wehrmacht during the early stages of the Second World War.

Unlike the standard troop-carrying versions, the Sd.Kfz.251/6 was equipped with advanced radio and communication systems to maintain contact between units and command structures.

It often featured prominent frame or rod antennas, making it easily recognisable on the battlefield.

Inside, the layout was adapted to accommodate radio operators and command personnel rather than infantry.
