The Škoda 100mm 14/19 Polish Howitzer was a modernised field artillery piece that combined proven early 20th-century engineering with interwar upgrades to extend its operational life.

Originally derived from Austro-Hungarian designs produced by Škoda Works, the weapon was later adapted and adopted by Poland, reflecting the country’s efforts to strengthen its artillery capabilities between the wars.

Chambered for 100mm ammunition, the 14/19 howitzer was valued for its reliability, manageable weight, and effective high-explosive firepower.

The “14/19” designation reflects its origins in the First World War era (Model 1914) and its subsequent modernisation in 1919, which included improvements to recoil systems, carriage design, and mobility. These upgrades allowed it to remain relevant in a period of rapid military development.

In Polish service, the howitzer was used as a standard divisional artillery piece, capable of delivering indirect fire against enemy infantry, fortifications, and light field positions.
